Unsurprisingly the first book of the series I read was the "Golden Budha", and I liked the whole idea, particularly the idea of the "spy" boat disguised as a old freighter. I also quite like the planning and accuracy of their plans.
Finally I quite like that for once for a Clive Cussler book, the main characters are not invincible. Yes Juan is invincible but beside him we do have main characters dying in some of the books.
What I do not like much however is Juan being the best at pretty much everything. He is the best ship driver, the best planner, the best driver, the best fighter.
Also on board the Oregon there is plenty of "less important" people; for maintenance; painting the ship... We never hear much about them, never have their side of the story. This works on most of Clive Cussler's books as the heroes are on a specific ship for a short period of time but in the case of the Oregon it doesen't.
